LIDAR data visualization

Eonfusion offers rich 4D visualization of diverse data types within one scene. It enables users to manipulate, visualize and interpret LIDAR data and integrate it with different types of environmental data.

In this example, LIDAR data from the North West of Tasmania (Australia) has been imported into Eonfusion in its original tabular text file format. The data are re-projected in Eonfusion, the ground layer is extracted and the height above ground is calculated. Eonfusion offers the ability to output this information to files. The extracted information is visualized in a scene along with orthorectified imagery. The height above ground of the LIDAR points is mapped to Eonfusion's time slider control, allowing the user to control the visible height interval and thereby dynamically visualize height change.

Height above ground is also represented by color, enabling quick visual analysis of the scene. The ability to visualize dynamic change in LIDAR data has applications for scenario exploration in research, planning and management, and for effectively communicating with stakeholders.
