Eonfusion V2.0 release preview

We're very excited to announce that Eonfusion version 2.0 is due for release late in September!

Version 2.0 represents a major increment in the capabilities of Eonfusion. The two headline features are the public Application Programming Interface (or API) and the exposure of raster vertex attributes. Each of these provides a much-expanded platform for both short and long term additions of new functionality.

The API provides a means for Eonfusion users to write their own operators and data sources in C# code. These dataflow objects can then easily be distributed to other Eonfusion users. We at Myriax will also be releasing "add-in" operators and data sources for general use.

Exposure of raster attributes in version 2.0 enables a broad range of new functionality, including automatic reprojection of raster data and the ability to easily manipulate raster geometry. The article in this newsletter about raster changes explains some of the changes that have been made.

Complementing these two headline features is a range of new additions that broaden the scope of Eonfusion's application and increase the depth of its capability:

  • Analysis capability has been expanded via the introduction of generic neighbour-linking operations.
  • Visualization capability has been improved by the addition of transparency.
  • The scope of data support has been widened by the addition of a 3D model data source.
  • Communication has received a major boost from the addition of a free view licensing mode.
